Hi Stony Hill Families,
It was wonderful to see so many of you at the Thanksgiving Festival on Friday! The building was filled with children's laughter, proud smiles, and great conversation. This was the perfect way to celebrate the season of gratitude and giving as a school community. Together, we raised $250.00 in cash donations and about $1,000.00 in food donations. Much of this will go to the Community Survival Center in Indian Orchard. They serve families in Wilbraham and Hampden. Some will go to Lorraine's Soup Kitchen in Chicopee and The Open Pantry in Springfield. Through this event, children had an opportunity to engage in service to others, gain a deeper sense of empathy, and hopefully begin a foundation of volunteerism that will last a lifetime. Stony Hill staff members truly enjoyed spending time outside of the classroom with their students and families. Once again, thank you to our PTO for helping fund this event. With the support of all involved, our children experienced a night to remember, and many families in need will benefit from your generosity.
This Wednesday is a half day. Students will be dismissed at 11:45. The PTO has arranged for a fantastic laser show assembly with the theme of anti-bullying. This presentation will be held on the half day.
Wherever you are going over this holiday break, I hope you enjoy every moment with family and friends. I am so thankful to be part of our Stony Hill family and am blessed to have such a supportive and positive community to serve.
Happy Thanksgiving!
